My mission is to help mindful companies and people do their part to make the world a better place by delivering their messages effectively and compellingly. I make sure the people I work with are happy with the results. You’ll be able to reach me with ease and speed and get two free revisions with each assignment — although this is rarely necessary.

Current Projects

  • Communications Manager at Wolf PAC: I design social media campaigns and coordinate related activities among volunteers across the Wolf PAC blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, and other platforms and oversee best practices. Moreover, I copyedit materials and provide feedback on more efficient ways to garner supporters and communicate the PAC’s goal of eliminating corporations’ power to fund politicians.
  • Community Moderator at LiveWorld: I moderate customer comments and feedback on Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms, helpfully addressing concerns, answering questions, and engaging fans in conversations regarding various brands and their products. I also collaborate with other moderators to watch and manage high-alert posts.
  • Freelance Copyeditor (in Spanish) and Translator (English-Spanish) of technical manuals and guides for the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
  • News Writer: I craft articles about the global fishing and aquaculture industries every weekday at Fish Information & Services
  • Technical Writer at FTA Business Multiplier, LLC


Professional Background

Most recently, as the Communications Manager for Wolf PAC, I’ve been working directly with volunteers, supporters, and higher-ups while designing and executing social media campaigns. In addition, as a Community Moderator for LiveWorld, I have been moderating customer comments and feedback for corporate giants including Wal-Mart and eBay.

My professional writing, editing, and translating experience began in 2002. I have written and copyedited for many publications, including magazines (e.g., CLOSER and RAG), newspapers (e.g., El Nuevo Herald), and blogs (Coggno, Save Eco Destinations, and Asistencia-Virtual.com) in both English and Spanish. I copyedit and translate multiple types of texts, ranging from the literary to the technical, in both languages  as well.

I work comfortably with AP, MLA, APA, Chicago, and Harvard styles and adapt quickly to company-specific formats.

I have a bachelor’s degree in British and American Literature and Gender Studies from New College of Florida, the Honors College of Florida, in Sarasota, Florida.

Personal

When not working, I spend my time playing and taking walks with my canine friend Naomi, volunteering, practicing yoga, making vegetable juice, reading, reveling in nature, and getting involved in social justice, animal rights, and environmental issues.
